BBFC Earns 2 Medals at the 2026 USA Fencing Summer National Championships
Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Club sent 18 fencers to the 2026 USA Fencing Summer National Championships and came home with two medal finishes. BBFC’s standout results included a Veteran-40 Men’s Foil bronze medal from Coach Michael Green and a 6th-place finish from Neve Murphy in Y12 Women’s Foil.
BBFC Highlights at Summer Nationals
Coach Michael Green opened the competition with a hard-earned 3rd place 🥉 finish in Veteran-40 Men’s Foil.
Neve Murphy placed 23rd out of more than 250 fencers in Junior Women’s Foil, an outstanding result for a 12-year-old competing in the U20 division.
Neve Murphy closed her competition with a 6th-place finish in Y12 Women’s Foil, placing 6th out of 225 fencers.
Alex Lin upset the #12 seed in Y10 Men’s Foil and placed 31st out of 146 fencers.
A Gritty Top-8 Comeback
Neve’s Y12 Women’s Foil medal run included one of the most exciting moments of the tournament. In her final bout to make the Top 8, she trailed 10-6 in the third period before finishing on a 9-4 run and winning 15-14 in overtime.
That kind of comeback takes composure, belief, and competitive toughness - especially on the national stage.

Closer to home, Eva Shang earned 5th place in Y10 Women’s Foil at the Fencer’s Club Youth Foil Event.
