BBFC Finds Early Season Tournament Success
BBFC Earns 3 Silver Medals and 5 Top-Eight Foil Finishes at the 2026 Mediterranean Games, Nittany Lion Cup, North Texas Roundup, and Trick or Retreat
BBFC has found early season success with our fencers medaling and earning accolades even before the school year begins! Sara Amr Hossny turned in a history making performance at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy earning a Silver Medal and becoming the first Egyptian woman in history to win a medal in fencing at the Mediterranean Games.
Closer to home, Genevieve Murphy was awarded a Silver Regional Patch by USA Fencing for finishing the 2026 Season ranked #2 in Region 3 for Y12 Women’’s Foil.
Our fencers were also competing regionally in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. And while last season we earned zero medals at the Nittany Lion Cuo and North Texas Roundup, this year, the club earned 6. These results reflect the hard work, consistency, and dedication that our fencers bring to the BBFC system of fencing. We are proud of all five athletes and look forward to seeing them continue building throughout the 2026-27 season.
